A Fun Fall!

We can't believe how fast this fall has flown by... Tommy has been keeping busy for sure, and having lots of fun with friends and family!

Calan!
This is cutie Calan, one of Tommy's playgroup friends.. she came over to play one day, and Tommy decided he was going to be Hugh Hefner for the day and hang out in his jammies. From the looks of the first picture, I think Tommy was a bit intimidating!

2 Toots Diner
Here Tommy is at his new favorite eatery in Glen Ellyn.. 2 Toots Diner! The Choo-Choo train actually brings your meal to you! And the best part is, we can just hop on the real Choo-choo train here in Elmhurst and ride it straight to the diner in Glen Ellyn--makes for fun lunches on the weekends!

Trick or Treating at Nana and Papa's House!
For one of the Halloween weekends, Tommy got to dress up in his Mickey Mouse costume and head to Nana and Papa's for a day full of Halloween festivities.. You can see him strolling down the sidewalk with Dad in his costume, and then in the next picture he is getting busy making some crafts with his buddy Ben, who got to join us. Then you can see him giving Papa a workout as he ran up and down the street, and he also liked showing Nana all the ghosts in the yards. (or as he calls them, "Boo!"). We got him and Ben to sit for a nice pic by the ghost, and finally you see him with Aunt D* climbing up and down the curb (which he did about 50 times)!

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa...

On the following Halloween weekend, Tommy made the trip to Fairbury to see Grandma and Grandpa Posey. As you can see, he kept busy here as well! He helped Grandpa mix up some yummy pancakes for breakfast, he got to go to the park in the wagon, he picked up leaves on the patio and put them in his bucket, and he got to get into his Mickey costume one more time and strut around.. whatta busy man!

A Fun Weekend with Mom and Dad
Tommy has been having a great time hanging out with just Mom and Dad on some weekends. Above you can see him with Dad at Arlington OTB the day of the Breeder's Cup, a big horse race.. not sure who likes the horses more, Dad or Tommy??? Then he is digging in his bib pouch for some more pasta/pizza at a local pizza place in Elmhurst--can't let a bite go to waste! And of course he loves the parks this time of year--he has his own rake now and will rake leaves all day if we let him! And the last pic is of Mom's cute boot she has been wearing for her broken toe! Needless to say, its been tough keeping up with the little man in the park ;-)

Fun with Uncle Jon!

With Mom's broken toe, Uncle Jon has come to the rescue at the park! He's probably much more fun anyways ;-)

Ready for the Winter...

Last but not least, Tommy and Dad have been working hard on the patio (our yard!) for the winter. Tommy is really into sweeping these days (will walk around the house all day with a broom and yell "weep! weep!") After this big patio cleaning, we're now all ready for the snow!!

Answer to last month's poll: Pumpkins, leaves or gourds ;-)

He's Back!!

Well, it seems that Mom is having a hard time keeping up with the whole picture thing after the 1,000 pictures she had to organize from Tommy's big 1st Birthday party! But no worries, we're back at it.. Here's a little update as to what the big T has been up to since August...

SPLASH PARK
Here Tommy is living up the last days of summer at the splash park with Dad. He wasn't walking quite yet, so it was a bit hard to maneuver. We're thinking this will be a fav spot to visit next summer!

ARLINGTON RACE TRACK
Here Tommy is hanging out at Arlington Horse Race Track.. his favorite part was the petting zoo and helping Dad feed the animals!

THE ZOO

And it wouldn't have been summer without one last trip to the zoo! Aunt D* joined us on a rainy Sunday, and we had lots of fun! The peek-a-boo holes seemed to be a hit this time around..

LOOK WHAT I GOT INTO!
Tommy recently also discovered that Mom keeps a hidden stash of chocolate in the pantry... Here you can see him with it covering his face, and fingerprints on the door in the background. What a sneak!! At least it was the 85% cocoa and healthy (er)!

FALL FUN

And now that Fall has begun, Tommy has been to a visit the Pumpkin Farm a few times! He got to ride the Choo-Choo (or Tu-Tu as Tommy calls it), play in the pumpkins, play with some fountains, and even ride a pony!

WALK THIS WAY

Last but not least, the little man has finally started strolling on his own. Life just got even busier at the Piazza household ;-)

Answer to last poll: CAKE!

July--a Crazy Month!

Tommy first got to visit Great-Grandpa Sam in early July.   He went over and ate some old school Italian--Savoia's.  And you can also see here the FOUR generations--sooo cool!  The even did "so big" altogether--whatta crazy bunch of Piazzas!!!

Next was Tommy's first Fourth of July.  We had friends over but I (Kate) was too busy running around I didn't even break out the camera!! But you can see Tommy here with Daddy in the park checking out some sparklers on July 5th...  He liked them, but didn't like the fact that he couldn't touch them!!

Next Tommy got to be a part of Aunt Darcy and now UNCLE (no longer pruncle) Matt's wedding.  What a great day in the city!!  He sported a tuxedo as he hammed it up at the Chicago Club reception.  He ate about 3 platefuls of ravioli along with his fruit, and of course he had some CAKE which he loved.

On July 23rd, Tommy turned 1 YEAR OLD!!  Holy Cow, where did the year go.  We celebrated by going to Morton Arboretum in Lisle.  Although it was hot, Tommy enjoyed mixing it up in the Children's Gardens..

And for the night of his birthday, we took him back to his favorite restaurant, Maggiano's for a repeat performance--which he definitely lived up to as you can see!!!  The manager even brought him some Nona's Pound Cake with a candle and as you can see he almost got the whole thing in his lap.  In the last pic, you can see he finally got a piece and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Tommy also participated in swimming lessons this past month in Elmhurst, which we don't have pics of, but here he is in the swimming pool with his Uncle Jon practicing his swimming skills..  well mostly just playing with the divider ropes, but he and Jon look pretty good sporting their big guns in the pool!

And to end the month, Tommy went out with a bang at his 1st birthday party.  We partied it up at the KidsWork Children's Museum, thanks to Nana for helping with that!!  There were about 30 friends there to celebrate the occasion--whatta popular dude!  Tommy of course LOVED the cake, but didn't love his hat so much.  Got a few cute shots with him in it though.. Thanks to all who came and celebrated --we had a ball!!  Tommy is so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family!!!
